Ok, this one is SO much funnier if you know the kids because it is SO accurate but I will share it anyway. These children's names have been changed.
So there is this 3rd grade boy named Caleb. He is notoriously irritable and tends to verbally and physically lash out at people. There is a classmate of his, Jason, who he finds particularly annoying and fusses with him often. There is another child named Mallory who is often in the mix and is unanimously the school drama queen.
On this particular day, Caleb and Jason were at each other as usual. I walked over to diffuse the situation when I heard the following conversation:
Caleb- Jason, you are THE most annoying person in this whole class and you were the most annoying person in the class LAST year TOOOOO!!!
Jason- (infuriated) THAT IS NOT TRUE!!!! Mallory was number 1 and I was number 2!!!!!!!!
Caleb- (thoughtfully) yeah, that's true...
And then it was over.
